Throughout my entire life, I have enjoyed creating in many various forms -- from calligraphy, to quilting, to stained glass and all forms of fiber art. My favorite gift to give friends and family has always been a handmade item. The one thing I always wanted to do was paint, but I never pursued it because I always told myself I couldn't draw and was not an artist. Four years ago, I decided on a whim to take a local watercolor class. I fell in love with this medium and after many lessons, online classes and tutorials, I have embraced my artistic dream.

Watercolor has a mind of its own, which makes it a fascinating , though at times frustrating, medium to work with. I had no idea when I first started to paint with watercolor that I was choosing the hardest paint medium to create with. It can be difficult to control and very hard to correct mistakes. So, I am finding that I need to "go with the flow" (literally) of watercolor. I am learning to embrace the mistakes and work with them. I realize that what I first put down on paper, may look quite different after it dries. There is still so much to wade through as I develop my skills in this artistic journey. But that is the beauty of it all. As in life, nothing is perfect, things aren't always as they seem at first, and sometimes you have to just work with what you have. It may not always turn out perfectly, but it can be beautiful!
